Between Wilton and Guisborough: 2 GS Woodpeckers, Heron, Grey Lag x 2, Canada G x 20, Mallards, Blue and Great Tits, Goldfinches, Chaffinches, 2 M Bullfinches, 2x Redwing 3x Tree Sparrows, 6x Lapwing, 1x Kestrel, 1x Buzzard perched with quite pale feathering, Robins, Blackbirds, Crows, Rooks but more Pheasants than anything >150.

Paddys Pool. RB.Merganserx3 M2,F1. Little Egretx1, Shelduckx4.
Back Saltholme. Very quiet. Pochardx1 M, Gadwallx2M/F. Numerous Widgeon at different locations on the reserve.
Cowpen Marsh. SE Owlx1, Grey Heronx1. Greylag but no sign of the Bean goose if they are still even there ??.
Greenabella, Greathem Creek. Greenshankx1, Spotted Redshankx1, Avocetsx8 on the saline lagoon, 1pr Mating. Numerous Redshank and Curlew also a Buzzard perched on a post on Greenabella.
Seal Sand. Ringed Plover, Knot, Dunlin, Redshank and got a fleeting glimpse of the GN Diver also certain i spotted Common Scoter flying overhead but not 100% certain and Peregrine flying above seal sands and Kestrel and Sparrowhawk on the main road. Another excellent day and to make it all the more worthwhile had a very interesting chat with Mr. Chris Packham who was visiting Saltholme, Brilliant end to the day :)

Goldcrest in acklam crematorium at 1 o clock today in trees near path from avenue trees acklam to sandyflatts field near the first bench

Greatham Creek, Greenabella etc.
Barn owl flew across road between car park and bridge, 8:30.
On Greenabella, greenshank and spotted redshank. Seal Sands: GN Diver and slavonian grebe both present, but no sign of the common scoter.
Saline lagoon, ca. 9:45: 19 avocets present. Two pairs seen mating.
Three common gulls on Seaton common; still a few fieldfares around.
Seaton snook, 10-11:30: couldn't find snow buntings (a lot of dog walkers around, which may have been a factor). Single drake long-tailed duck in the entrance channel for seal sands (and 20+ r b mergansers). Two ringed plover over.

Juv Glaucous Gull on Dormans Pool this morning with Bittern and Kingfisher. 3 Dark-bellied Brents on Seaton Common, Buzzard on Greenabella, 14 Avocets on the Saline Lagoon and Scaup on Saltholme.

Seawatching at Saltburn 06.30-08.30 this morning produced 3 Sandwich Terns flying north ( 2 at 06.50 ad the other at 08.00) also Greylag Goose, Goldeneye, 6 Gannets and 2 Snow Buntings all heading north. 4 Teal, 13 Red-throated Divers and 2+ Harbour Porpoises offshore. Stonechat on the cliffs and 10 alba wagtails flew north-west. A Puffin was dead on the tideline.

Scaling Dam 1.30 - 2.30 pm today. 1 Med Gull with Ring. 1 Common Buzzard very light coloured. Male and Female Goosander. I Female Hen Harrier, excellent views for about 5 minutes. Enjoyed by B Cowse, B Foster and us. 1 Little Grebe. 1 Shoveller Drake. Oyster Catcher. 100s of B H Gulls. Common Gull and GBB Gull. 5 Water Hen. 4 Golden Eye. 6 Tufted. 6 Teal. 7 Mallard. 5 Cormorant. 40 + Lapwing. T Sparrow. H Sparrow. Greenfinch. Chaffinch. Dunnock and various Tit members. Quite busy there today. Best day for weeks. Grey Lag and 1 Pink Foot on fields opposite side of road to Res. Grey Lags in abundance at Lockwood to Stanghow in roadside fields. 1 Sparrow Hawk on Lockwood verges.
