The other Bittern was again showing well at the northern end of Dormans Pool this morning along with the 3 Smew. Juv Glaucous Gull at Seaton Meadows Landfill and Short-eared Owl, Greenshank and Spotted Redshank at Greenabella.

Bittern flew at Dormans Pool and landed to the left of top car park at approx 2pm. 26 Waxwing in garden at Leonard Ropner Drive in Fairfield at 4.30pm.

Saltholme. Redshank, again numerous Widgeon, Mallard, Curlew.
Wildlife Watchpoint. 1xSnipe.
Saltholme East, 1x Scaup M, 1xGreat crested grebe.
Dormans pool, 2x Smew M/F, 1xLesser Redpoll, 1x Stonechat, M
Phil Stead hide, very quiet, 1x Little Egret 2x Shelduck and plenty of Teal.

Hartlepool Headland - Merlin flying by skimming the sea seen from the railings below Heugh Battery. Common Scoter x23 & Eider x8 on the sea.

Green-winged Teal, 3 Smew, Bittern and Kingfisher still at Dornans Pool this morning and drake Scaup on Saltholme East. 2 x 1st year Glaucous Gulls at Seaton Meadows Landfill near Seaton Common and Dark-bellied Brent Goose on Cowpen Marsh.

1st year Glaucous Gull (different bird to the one on Seaton Common earlier) on the sea at Seaton Catew late afternoon. Black-throated Diver also there.

Green Woodpecker and Willow Tit at Coatham Stob and 7 Waxwings in Billingham at Austen Close. Bittern, Green-winged Teal and 3 Smew at Dormans. Scaup and Water Pipit at Saltholme. 3 Slavs, 2 Long-tailed Ducks and a Scaup on Seal Sands and Tundra Bean Goose on Cowpen Marsh. Barn Owl and Short-eared Owl at Long Drag and Spotted Redshank, Greenshank, Black-tailed Godwit, Barn Owl, Short-eared Owl and 30 Twite at Greenabella. Glaucous Gull and Peregrine at Seaton Common and 3 Med Gulls commuting between Hartlepool and Newburn. Most interesting sighting was an 'Ermine' (white Stoat) on Greenabella.
