Guisborough garden : manic for 10 minutes this morning with chaffinch,greenfinch,brambling,bullfinch,goldfinch,siskins and redpoll all together with LTT,bluetit,greattit and coaltit.
Walk around Sleddale not quite so productive with 2 common buzzard, a kestrel one fieldfare and a meadow pippit

A1046, 2 peregrine on the cooling towers at haverton.
Haverton srubb 2 LEO not showing very well though
Paddys pool hide. Numerous widgeon, mallard, coot, grey heron, moorhen,little egretx2. Also 1 brown hare.
Saltholme hide. large mixed flock of lapwing, widgeon, curlew and shelduckx2
Watchpoint. Snipex1, coot, moorhen, mute swan M/F and goldfinch, greenfinch, and reedbunting on the feeders.
Phil stead hide. Very quiet, moorhen, coot and again widgeon and little egretx1. Also a pair of kestrel hunting just outside saltholme, very confiding.
Dormans pool. pm. No sign of the bittern but 2 smew, 1 redhead and 1 drake. Also another 2 peregrine on the north tees work towers.
Haverton viewpoint (not haverton hole). After the dissapoinment of missing the bittern at dormans was over the moon at spotting 1 here, disturbed by a small flock of canadas. Also cootx37 and mute swanx1.
Portrack marsh. 10/2/13am. My last 2 visits, the 8th and the 10th there has been nothing of note, curlew x3 on billingham beck, redshank, lapwing, blackbird, robin, LT, G, B Tit. But went out looking for bullfinch and yesterday after 3 hrs and only finding goldfinch, greenfinch, chaffinch i thought id missed out again only to cum across 2 cracking males drinking from the pony pond.....Excellent :)

Bittern still on Dormans Pool feeding in the same place as yesterday, also 3 Smew and drake Green-winged Teal. Tundra Bean Goose at Cowpen and 3 different 1st year Glaucous Gulls on Seaton Meadows Landfill late afternoon.

10.30-1130..Coatham Stobb with Gaz Cummings
2nd time lucky here,looking for Green Woodpecker..Followed Telegraph poles to the right of the carpark,heard it call fisrt ,then it flew overhead heading towards the stream..result. Also Jay,Blue and Great Tit and heard Bullfinch.

A cracking second-winter Caspian Gull was on the beach at Saltburn this morning and then later giving excellent views on the rocks below Huntcliff. It eventually was disturbed by the usual dog walkers and headed off towards Marske. Also on the beach was the curious looking, short-legged and long-winged adult Herring Gull hybrid which has been here on and off for over a month.

South Gare 12.30 till 1.30. I 2nd winter Iceland Gull flew past the Marine Club and towards the lighthouse but could not be relocated. Also 1 Slavonian Grebe just offshore in the bay. Also present 2 Stonechat, 2 Redwing, 2 Fieldfare, 2 Sond Thrush and 1 Grey Plover

Quiet at Skinningrove this morning, except for 50 Fulmars pairing up offshore and around their breeding cliffs, 20 Guillemots on the sea and 10 Red-throated Divers past. Scaling Dam similarly quiet: the Pink-footed Goose was still present with the Greylag flock.

Black-throated Diver still in the marina and Med Gull still at Newburn. 1st year Iceland Gull, 1st year Glaucous Gull and 131 Pink-feet over Seaton Common. 2 Long-tailed Ducks, 3 Slav Grebes, Pale-bellied Brent Goose and Whimbrel at Seal Sands. Spotted Redshank, 2 Short-eared Owl, and 2 Barn Owls at Greenabella. Greenshank and Common Scoter at Tidal Pool. Bittern, 3 Smew and Green-winged Teal at Dormans and Tundra Bean Goose at Holme Fleet.

Seal Sands this afternoon: greenshank and male common scoter still at the tidal pools, 3 slav grebes showing quite well, but LTDs right at the back, plus 3 eider, the S-E and barn owls, spotted redshank, some RB mergansers and shelduck e.c.t.

Adult white morph Gyrfalcon flew low overhead and then over the forest towards Sleddale. No sign of any jessies but assumed escape. Fantastic bird!

Teesmouth today 1200 to1400hrs Dormans:- 1 bittern showed at edge of reeds in N edge near two wooden poles at Seal Sands Road end.Also 1green winged teal,1male,1 redhead smew.Seal Sands 2-3 slavonian grebes,2 long tailed duck.Tidal Pool 1 greenshank and male common scoter.
