Little tern spotted on beach between Redcar and Marske this morning, dwarfed by sandwich terms nearby! Plenty of the latter resting and foraging. Couple of ringed plover in same general area, one attempting to eat a small fish. Couple of eider out on the sea off Redcar.

Purple heron at Dormans flew for a few seconds around 18:15 today, landing again in the central reedbed.
Other sightings included marsh harrier, 2 kestrels, sparrowhawk, great crested and little grebes.

Male pied flycatcher heard and seen singing in Newton Woods this morning along the bottom path. Also cuckoo heard and tree pipit spotted performing singing display in area of Roseberry Moor along Brant Gate path.
