Billingham Beck - Green Sandpiper, 5 Redshank, Little Grebe, 2 Moorhen, BH Gull plus c20 Teal and c10 Mallard. A Fox at the northern end viewed from near Cassel Works crossed the beck.

RSPB Saltholme - 8.20am - Scaup drake, Goldeneye x3.

Seaton Common - Glaucous Gull x1, odd looking Herring Gull with pompom on head, Fieldfare x.30.

Hartlepool Marina - Black-throated Diver, Little Grebe x2.

The harbour - Red-necked Grebe present until around 10am when it swam out and didn't return. Red-throated Diver x2, Red-breasted Merganser, Shag, Cormorant, Eider.

There were some Geese like the ones on pictured on the main TBC page on the road to Stanghow from Lockwood beck in a field on the left at 1.30pm ...distintive orange beaks and legs.

Dorman's Pool, 12:35 - 13:00: The three smews were giving good, if distant views from the hide. Brief views of a bittern at the reed edge towards the northern end of the pool.

the two Siskins that have taken up residence in our garden have just started to eat from the nyger feeders, they were on the seed feeders but now see off the Gold finches until they have eaten their fill.

27/2/13. ICI Billingham, 1x Peregrine Falcon.
RSPB Saltholme. Haverton srubb, 1xLEO. This bird as been in the same location on my previous 4 visits. Also 1xLittle Grebe 2x Mute SwanM/F on the allotment pool.
Paddys Pool. Very quiet 1xLittle Egret 5xPochard.
Back Saltholme. 3x RB Merganser, 1M/2F, 2xShelduck M, 1x Great Crested Grebe, and numerous Widgeon Teal and Curlew but the numbers of these birds are down all over the reserve.
Wildlife Watchpoint. Very quiet. 1x Redshank 5x Cooot 3xMoorehen and Greenfinch, Goldfinch and B Tits on the feeders.
Phil Stead Hide. Again Very quiet 1x Shelduck M, and again Teal, Widgeon and 1x Little Egret 5x Pochard.
Drake Scaup still on Saltholme east.
Doormans 2xHeron, 1x Little Egret, 7xShovelar 5M,2F, no sign of the Smew or Bitterns but only had bins so range of view wasnt good, also 2 Roe Deer just off the path, not in the slightest bit bothered by our presence also 3 Hares on Saltholme. All in all a quiet day, looking forward to the arrival of our summmer migrants

2nd winter Caspian Gull on Seaton Meadows landfill this morning, along with 2 juv Glaucous Gulls (3 reported) and a leucustic adult Herring Gull with wholly white primaries.
